Exchange 2003 users dont get automatic notifications from SharePoint 2010

For some reason I cant get users with mailboxes on exchnage 2003 to gte the auto emails from SharePoint 2010. Our mailboxes in Exchange 2010 get them with no problem. Thanks.

    Is there any error or do they just sit in the queue?

    there is no error, they just never get the email.

    After I installed an Exchange connector under routing groups, the 2003 users began receiving alerts from SharePoint.

    After I did some research online, I realized I needed to create a connector in exchange management console.
