There should be 2 's' in /enableglobalnamessupport, i.e. enableglobalname_s_support

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

I have already been to this Microsoft site but haven't found any dnscmd commands pertaining to the creation of a 'global-name zone.

I was able to run the dnscmd /config /EventlogLevel 2) successully!

On the MS site I linked to, in Step 2, your command is listed there with two 's' whereas you had only one.

you wrote:

dnscmd . /config /enableglobalnamesupport 1

Code from Step 2:

dnscmd <ServerName> /config /enableglobalnamessupport 1

Just compare them.
