Hard Disk: Recovery Tools


1) I have a Hard Disk which i believe there is possibility "Bad"
2) I believe there are some tools to check (even to cure) the Hard disks
3) Some are in Windows itself, some are possibly a third party tools
4) I do not remember the "complete command" of it
5) For Example: Chckdisk ....?
6) Would you provide "some tools for checking the Hard Disks" with the complete commands please

the command is chkdsk - for help type chkdsk /?

If the disk has a physical problem or is suspected of a physical problem, I strongly recommend getting rid of it.  If it's data corruption then it's probably not a physical problem and chkdsk should do the trick.
CHKDSK c: /f /r
That will check the C: drive, the /f does the whole file system, the /r checks each sector for bad physical blocks.
Run HDTune too run diagnostics. This program is free - or you can use a  trial version - this should be enough.

I also recommend to get rid of the drive if it having a physical problem just as Leew above.
Watch out before buying some software. Run the CHKDSK option first to see if it is only on the system which has some errors.
