installing program on new computer

I have an old computer with software installed for which I don't have the media.

Is there a program (what is the best one) to migrate programs from old computer to new computer? From Windows XP to Windows 7 (or XP ok worse case).

Nope.

You could try Acronis trueimage to copy the XP Image off and onto a new computer but not upgrade to windows 7 at the same time no.

What you must also bear in mind is that IF the windows XP installation OR any of the software is OEM then it is illegal to move any of it to another computer. OEM License is ONLY for the PC it is sold with and can not be transfered.
What software is it for example ?
If you have bought the software you might be able to get a download link from the vendor so you can install it again.
Generally it does not work properly just to copy the software over expecially when it is even a different OS.

it's really old. it's called "PrintLeader".   contacted the company but they want me to upgrade the software for 1000's...
Norton Ghost or Acronis TrueImage can facilitate the migration.
