Server System
Windows SBS 2003 R2 SP2 with Exchange

Windows 7 Pro 32 bit
Outlook 2010 32 bit

Clients email is hosted pop3 e-mail that we need to download into exchange server so that calendars can be shared among 5 company employees.. Ports 995 & 465 with ssl are required to access their pop email. I have setup the pop3 coneector on the exchange server but cannot get mail downloaded or sent. I haven't been able to locate where to specify the smtp port or to specify ssl for the pop server.

History- Apparently this worked until they removed their Windows XP boxes with Outlook 2003 and has not worked since. They have setup a seperate pop email acount and can send & receive mail just not through Exchange.

The pop3 connector built into SBS 2003 oes not support custom ports or SSL. It was designed as a migration tool and is not intended for long-term use, thus its feature set us limited. If you plan on using exchange, you should transition to a full SMTP end-to-end solution.

I  thought the ports and ssl might be the issue but what has wondering is how it worked before. Any ideas  abou that.

They may have had outlook on those machines configured to download pop3 directly, but that only works for the account and profile configured in Outlook (no multiple accounts simultaneously) and only while Outlook was open.

I've seen some sites do this, but is makes troubleshooting very difficult and is very insecure and inefficient. Like I said, I'd strongly push for a full SMTP solution.

They are stock brokers, the company they work through requires hosting the email as that company maintains copies of all emails. Any suggestions for a solution.
