Launch an exe via website url

We currently have our remote control software available for download on our website. Fed up of talking users (that need remote assistance) through the navigation. I'm really not that IIS savvy and our designer is just that... a designer. I want the remote control exe to prompt for run\download when a user goes to a URL...something like http://help.domain.com.
Im guessing the answer is very straightforward but help appreciated!
thanks in advance

You won't get that in most browsers. It's a client side security thing.
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="8;url=http://www.help.domain.com/myprogram.exe" />

Put that on the website in the <head> section.  It will forward to your .exe.
