How will an Apple Mail flagged image show in Thunderbird

I am using Apple Mail on my Mac. Mainly because in syncs easily with my Iphone 4 and is searched through easily by spotlight. The only thing I find limited it its marking options. I only seem to be able to flag a message. And I wonder about this flagging. When I flag an email in an IMAP account how will it show up in Thunderbird - used by my colleague?

depending on how they have their Tbird configured, they will see a little gold star in the message list.

The message itself does not indicate whether it is starred in Thunderbird, but your colleagues will be used to this (if they use stars).  More info here:

Reading that thread I do not see Apple Mail mentioned. I did read flagged = starred. So perhaps you are right. so how would I see a Thunderbird "important" or "to do" marking in Mail? It just won't show?

I don't think tagging (labeling) are standardized across platforms -- and I don't think has any support at all for marking messages. You'd need an add-in like MailTags, and even then it might not support the tagging that Thunderbird does.
