Looking for PDA Windows mobile 6.1 phone & software to differentiate SMS & call volume

My Samsung SGH-i780 is beginning to give problem (self-shutdown)
& I got a pimppc backup software that could backup all the SMS
messages, contacts, reminders etc in this phone.

Q1:
Now, I'm looking for another Window 6.1 mobile phone, can anyone
recommend specific models for Samsung, HTC or any other brands?
Samsung told me I could migrate all those SMSes, contacts, reminders
etc to another Win Mobile 6.1

Q2:
I get something like more than 50 SMSes in night from the computers
that I'm supporting.  I'm looking for a freeware for Win mobile 6.1 that could
turn of SMS sounds at night but still keep incoming calls sound on (in case
my 24x7 shift colleagues call me) : I can afford to ignore the SMSes at
night but not the calls.  Samsung told me their phones can't do this

1 more question : suppose I got a PDA phone that's on
Win Mobile 6.5, can I downgrade it to Win Mobile 6.1 ?

Reason is : I'm afraid the pimppc backup may not restore
on Win MObile 6.5 & I heard WM 6.5 doesn't provide
threaded (linked like emails in Gmail) SMSes feature

Try this for all window mobile devices:

http://www.pocketpcfreeware.com/en/index.php?soft=1806

You wont have to worry about what version of WM. Depending on what device you can rollback to 6.1

Thanks so much, Mikal.  Does the Skype at this site allows me
to do video conference on my WM 6.1 with a PC user running
Skype ?

I tried to get the Skype stuff & it redirects me to a Skype page
which has been removed.  Where else can I get it?

The idea of using my WM6 PDA phone to skype is wonderful
