Exchange Managment Console

After following the steps from the above URL I cannot Access my Exchange 2010 Management Console or Exchange 2010 Shell

Connecting to Remote Server Failed with the following message: Access is denied. For more information see the about_Remote_Troubleshooting topic.

That article is for configuring remote access to Exchange thru TMG
It has no impact on opening the management console

if you are having issues opening the exchange management console and also any other snap-in like event viewer
ensure that you do not have kb2449742 installed

Event Viewer is fine, this update does not apply to my version of MS Server 2008 Std R2.

After completeing the steps in the above article, I could not access the Management Console anymore.

Should I try connect to the Exchange Forest via the Add Exchange Forest Wizard.

I get:

Connecting to Exchange Forest.

I managed to find the problem, I had Sharepoint server listening on port 80. Changed the port on the sharepoint site and the Managment Console opened again
