Adding exchange mail account

Have a user that when I try to connect his exchange account to Outlook it doesn't work. I go to the control panel and select mail to add the account and instead of getting the dialog box to add email accounts it comes up with profiles and they are blank. Anyone know how to get his mail icon to bring up the correct dialog box to add the email account?

In Outlook, you have to create a new profile first. In the Profiles dialog box click Add and give your profile a name. Next, you will be given the option to add email accounts.
If for some reason you are unable to get outlook to do it just go to the control panel and look for mail, this is the location on where to setup your profile or change an existing profile to setup accounts.

I am going to the mail icon in the control panel. you cant add an exchange account while outlook is open so this is the only place to do it. When I go to mail in the control panel it opens up with a profile box. Not the normal add email accounts box. this is the problem I need help with. The control panel mail not letting me add an account just view the current profiles. Very weird the first time I have seen this. Alson the client is running 7 pro.
Could you post screenshot of this window?
Try to go into the profile in control panel mail and click properties. There should be Email Accounts.. button in there.

what do u see when you click on the profile properties, Try to add a new profile & set up a new accunt by clicking on the properties of the new account
BTW, What does the Show Profiles button do? Does it show you available profiles? Can you create a new profile there and set up Exchange account?
Yes it shows you the profile. You can also add, remove, or edit properties for the profile.
Okay. If you click Add, are you able to add a new profile and set up Exchange account for it? Does it give you the option to select a default profile?
