I created a SharePoint List Definition project in Visual Studio 2010 and published the solution to a SharePoint site.  How do you populate the List Definition from a MS SQL Server Table?  Do you know of some examples?

    Accepted Solution

    You can use

    1) BCS(Business Connectivity Services - External List/Content Types) - *External List is not stored in the SharePoint 2010 content database.

    2) SSIS (Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services) & SharePoint List Source and Destination Adapter project on Codeplex

Excellent help.  I am required to load the SharePoint List Definition using Visual Studio and making the MS SQL Server connection there.  Do you know how to load the list definition using Visual Studio to SQL connection?
