Is it possible to install Internet Explorer 8 on a Lenovo Win 7 64 bit OS that came preinstalled with Internet Explorer 9?

Is it possible to install Internet Explorer 8 on a Lenovo Win 7 64 bit OS that came preinstalled with Internet Explorer 9?

I have certain websites that won’t load from any computer if the browser is Internet Explorer 9.

Is there any way that I can uninstall Internet Explorer 9 or down grade Internet Explorer 9 to Internet Explorer 8?

I don’t see Internet Explorer 9 listed anywhere in the Programs and Features List.

However, I’m sure that I would be able to remove it if I went into the Windows Turn Windows features on or off. If I removed Internet Explorer 9 using this method, would I then be able to replace it with Internet Explorer 8?

You should be able to uninstall IE9 by using Windows Update. Go to Windows Update, look for Installed Updates, then scroll down until you see IE9. You should then be able to uninstall it leaving you with IE8. I have done that while testing and the method works fine. However my machine did not come preinstalled with IE9.

Did you try uninstalling it?  The newest Lenovo Thinkpads I have for clients are about 30 days old or a bit older and they came with IE8. Microsoft is not yet forcing IE9 via updates. So IE9 should be living in installed updates.

Did you try and it is not there ?  .. Thinkpads_User

I don't know why do you need install latest IE if some website required using latest Java Engine
and HTML 5. I will use VB and switch from IE9 to IE8 or IE7 or run all at same time :)

1. Goto Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features\Installed Updates

2. Right click "Windows Internet Explorer 9 Release Candidate" and select uninstall
