Windows Mail icon missing in Windows 7
Hi All,
I need to use Windows Mail in Windows 7, but the shortcut is missing. Ik can see the exe file in the Program Files\Windows Mail. I don't know how to restore Windows Mail.
Anyone?

Double-click on WinMail.exe
To make shortcut, RIGHT-click on WinMail.exe, "Send To", "Desktop"

Unless you have manually installed Windows Mail, (i.e. copying the executable from Windows Vista), you will NOT be able to make Windows Mail to run on Windows 7.

i am running Windows mail on W7 for years - but you need to install it it yourself

Installing Windows Live Essentials is the best solution for me, because of maintaining a certain standard which is supportable. I don't like workarounds or tooling.

you're right, but as mentiond, the Live Essentials is also a solution to my problem for not having a mail client. I followed you link to the possible solution which I did not test, but you deserve credits for it.

As long as you are satisfied with the solution you have chosen, there is no need to re-open this question just for assigning points.
I think that it is OK for suggesting alternatives for a question and accepting comments of good suggestion as solution. As long as the comment is reasonable and technically feasible, an alternative can be considered as a solution and there is no EE rule in how to assign points in this way.
