OutllookEmailArchivalOptions.

I am trying to find an archival way for emails received in an outlook 2007 email account and exchange server where i can not export to PST files and emails get deleted every few months.

Can I have every copy i receive into one email account to another google, yahoo or cable company email account so i can search for it there as needed?

or can i install a second copy of outlook express somehow on my PC and use that somehow on the same PC where i have outlook exchange.

any other solutions?

I would just setup a rule to forward the email that you want to your other account.

Ok, would this keep a copy in the oriiginal box and send another copy to the other email address?

I use the working one mainly but because they keep deleteing emails i want archive copy in the other one for future retrieval.

Does google or yahoo suppor outlook clients for their emails accounts?

hi sam15,
- instead of applying forarding rules in Outlook, you can setup Email Fetcher on Gmail to fetch email from you pop mail account. To keep the email on your pop mail server so that you can still download a copy of the email on Outlook, you must specify the "Leave a copy of retrieved messages on the server" on the Gmail setting page. Gmail will check your pop accounts on a regular basis but you can't specify the interval.

- a guide to setup Gmail Email Fetcher can be found here:

Are you saying I can configure my google account to fetch the emails from my main business account on periodic basis? But would the not the internal firewall block that as it would not let the google connect to the local exchange server.

- login to the email from web is probably still accessing the mail server at your office. the test can only be done if you have the email settings.

- you can ask the IT person in charge of the email at your office - if it's possible to setup your pc at home/smartphone (if you have one) to download the office email (he would probably answer - use the webmail). usually this settings is only provided to upper management because they always on the move and need to have access to the email always. if you can have this settings, then it is possible to set it up on gmail.
