Preventing Laptop users from installing any apllications

Hi All,

  Im administering a network and I have 50 Laptop users that take their laptops to home , I have taken off the local admin rights from them, but I discovered that sme of them would break the laptop local admin password using any free tools ( CD, USB, software) for example ERD commander, I need a solution to prevent such actions from happeing. please advise

1: The best way is your company's computer security policy.
   The guys should be penalized if he broken the rule.
2: Setup password for BIOS. and setup the Hard disk as the 1st boot sequence order.
3: Using group policy, only allow run programs which in white list.
4: If allowed, you can block all port, e.g: CD-ROM, USB, internet, and so on. :-).
    Only allow the user visit your company's servers.

Hi,

i was suffering like you before a period but now every thing is ok,

Disable cd's and USB from Bios and protect bios by Admin password.
or at least disable booting from CD's and usb from bios .
and limit the users account not to access removable media ..
