Can you start the computer with F10? That is, turn off, start, and interrupt the start with F10. That should access the Sony recovery wizard. .... Thinkpads_User

Hard to say with the given information.

Can you connect to the Internet with a wired connection? Connect to a wired port on the router.

If so, perhaps uninstall the wireless driver, restart and reinstall the wireless driver.

Do you know why my laptop is keep restarting every 3- 6 minutes? even after I restored it? I was having this problem, and thought that if I do restore then it will fix, how do I restore it to the original factory setting?

I am not completely familiar with Sony restores, but on most machines, a restore like this takes you back to factory out-of-the-box settings. It it did this, and it is restarting after 3 to 6 minutes, you probably have a hardware problem. It could be overheating (dirty inside, thermal compound deteriorated, fan stopped) or it could have a motherboard problem. Also check memory as well (on board Sony diagnostics).

>>>  why my laptop is keep restarting every 3- 6 minutes?   <<   this looks like it is over heating
install speedfan to monitor the temps : http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php
now check if all fans are running ok
clean all fans and vents from dust - best open the pc to do this

note : hardware problems do not get resolved with a restore to factory (since that is only the software)

...one more note : if, everything seems ok, but temps  are still too high, you may nee to replace the CPU heat paste

How do I  replace the CPU heat paste ?

John HurstBusiness Consultant (Owner)Commented:
If the CPU is removable (it was on my IBM Thinkpad T41), you need only remove it, clean it, and apply new thermal compound. I have done that before. ... Thinkpads_User

What does it mean to "apply new thermal compound"? Is it something I can buy from Frys?

John HurstBusiness Consultant (Owner)Commented:
I should clarify. I remove the CPU to clean it. There should be a heat pipe on top of the CPU that leads to the fan (some such arrangment, which is, in effect, a heat sink). So when the CPU is clean, put a small layer of thermal compound on the top, clean the heat pipe and refasten it.

You should easily be able to buy thermal compound at Frye's. Ask them for a decent brand. Artic Silver is supposed to be good, but I do not waste my time looking for it. ... Thinkpads_User

here some info on heatpaste :  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermal_grease
normally, you remove the heatsink (& fan) then clean the cpu surface; if it does not come off, here some tips :  http://www.overclockers.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-313494.html
one of the best on the market is Artic Silver :  http://www.arcticsilver.com/
you find it in all PC shops
