PC will not connect to internet through LAN or WiFi
Hi all, I have a Toshiba Satellite L355D-S7901 Running Windows Vista Home 32bit SP1. It will not connect to the internet either through cable or wirless. I have even tried a USB dongle from Verizon wireless. All efforts only get me limited connectivity. I have disabled all firewalls available on pc to make sure its not the firewalls, I have restarted both routers I have on my network switches have been rebooted settings have also been changed and reset. manual IP will not work either. Machine will not connect to internet at all. I had a similar problem like this awhile back with another Toshiba but I when ahead and just reinstalled the whole OS again and it took care of it. Trying to avoid that again but would just like to see if anyone might have had this happen to them and know of another method to get the pc to connect to the internet.
Thanks
Thanks
Can you ping www.google.com ?
If not, try to and reset the Windows Vista
Click on Start button.
Type Cmd in the Start Search text box.
Press Ctrl-Shift-Enter keyboard shortcut to run Command Prompt as Administrator. Allow elevation request.
Type netsh winsock reset in the Command Prompt shell, and then press the Enter key.
Restart the computer.

If still no go, try to run
ipconfig /flushdns

Tried all solutions. I dont think it is a browser problem becasue the network adapters will not pick up an IP address and the ping will not respond even with a manual ip address added. I have also noticed that this pc seems very slow to install programs and uninstall programs, Im begging to think the hard drive may become corrupt and might need replacing. Im going to run diagnostics on the hard drive and check it. Will also keep checking to see if anyone else has another solution thanks all

Yeah I went ahead and did a fresh install I didn't want to but because I was in a hurry to fix it (family members from out of town) I was really trying to get this mystery problem fixed as it has happened before but I was really hoping someone else would have found and answer, but all well thanks all!
In fact I have tried so many things with my pc before formatting. In one case it was not able to add / remove or modify any network interfaces and in the seconf one it even could not delete the interface so in both cases whatever I googled tried invented it did not go through and I did a fresh install in both cases.

Although I prefer fresh installs because of their lengthy install time and I like to take my time to do it right but this problem really has just frustrated me as I've never been able to identify why this happens.
