I'm trying to help a friend who had a virus on their computer. i was able to clean off the virus - but now their copy of McAfee is stuck on reporting that the detection signature files are more than 30 days old. i googled this and keep seeing to remove the CONTENTS of the dat folder in c:\program files\mcafee\virusscan - then running update - and even rebooting. i have tried this - but the more than 30 days thing remains.
any other ideas?

Go to this address and download and install the Superdat and this will resolve the issue.

i ran the 6325dat executable, but it errored with a could not find a qualifying product message?

What version of McAfee are you using?

i guess it's some Dell version? i click the "about" button - and for anti-virus it's 11.1
