Adding to the many side of the DB.

in visual studio, i created 2 tabs, first is one that will enter the main info about an employee 'the one side, being EMPID IS PK' and another tab to enter information about the employees 'the many side EMPID IS THE FK' I used the binding navig. in both tabs each bound to its relative table, yet, in the second tab i cannot add new because obviously a related record is require in the first tab 'tabs ar not the issue here' so i tried making a combobox in the second tab 'many side' that contains the text list of the EMPID in the one side so no non-existing PK from the one side can be entered, but on saving, it says 'an update query is required.....etc' so is there a way to get around this?
