Modifying PHP Reports written using CODEIGNIGHTER

I have a set of Reports that need to be modified. They were originally written using CodeIgnighter, and the original developer is gone.
Does anyone know:
#1 If I need to specifically use a CodeIgnighter person to modify the reports
#2 If I might have an issue because I may be "missing the source code or other files" (or would everything needed live on my server now where I run the reports)
#3 Or is the original SW used to write the Reports (CodeIgnighter) irrelevant, and I just need PHP expertise?

I guess the output of CodeIgnighter are readable PHP source files?  Then a PHP person, not necessarily a CodeIgnighter person should be able to do it.  It might be more difficult, but theoretically it should be possible.  It would be better though if whoever will work on it has access to all source code from the working live server to make sure he/she doesn't miss anything.
