Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port (COM9) This device cannot start. (Code 10)

I researched this on the internet after troubleshooting the entire day and received a blurb saying you have the answer. I joined. I can't find the answer. Where is the solution that I was told by your advertising that you have? Please advise.

It appears we're dealing with a USB to serial adapter on some version of Windows.

Open Device Manager and check for resource conflicts under device properties. Don't expect any but need to be certain.

In Device Manager, click on the View tab and select Resources by Connection. Expand Interrupt Request (IRQ) and see if there are any other devices using IRQ9 or IRQ2. If so, post back with information or, better still, a screen shot.

Uninstall the USB to Serial adapter in Device Manager and reboot. That sometimes resolves Code 10 errors.

Uninstall and re-install the device driver.

For more precise help, we'll need additional information.

That did not work either, but someone else has provided a solution that worked. Thank you all for your time.

You need to install the driver without the device being plugged in. After installation, plug it in, and then no problem. Thank you for your assistance.
