BCWP (Budgeted Cost of Worked Performed) is simply the calculated cost of the task based on the status date. It assumes that all work is done according to schedule.

So for a given task the BCWP formulas is Total Cost * % complete.  %completed is determined by  using  STATUS DATE - START DATE / FINISH DATE - START DATE)

    Accepted Solution

    Hmm, I don't agree.

To calculate BCWP you need to have a few more things:
    - the baseline needs to be saved
    - the task needs either "% complete" or "physical % complete" with a value greater 0. (you can define which Earned Value Method to use in File..Options..Advanced)

BCWP then shows the cost from the task's BASELINE by calculating the cumulated total of baseline cost from the task's start to the calculated finish (start + (duration * % complete)), however never beyond the status date.
