Changing the network card for the SQL Active/Passive cluster

Hi All,

  I have SQL 2005 configure as acrtive/passive cluster, I noticed that the network card in the active node is having some problem and I need to change it, please advise what is the steps to change it and what changes I need to make for the current cluster configurations

    Are you looking to change the network card the cluster node is using for its outgoing, client-facing communication? Can you share the version of Windows Server you're working with - that will determine the process for switching out the network card more than the version of SQL Server you're using.

    Also, if you have the option to fail all your SQL instances to the "other" node, then you can make whatever changes you want to that node while you switch out the network card.
