when I click the info bar and tell it to add the Active X, it won't. It says it can't because it's an unknown publisher name 404.html

Maybe something like this will help.

try resetting IE7.  Tools / Internet Options / Advanced /
Reset (button).

I have a few special settings that enable a work app and am concerned if I reset, it will cause my work app to have some issues.  Is there something specific I can reset?

Open Internet Explorer.
On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
Click the Advanced tab.
Scroll down to Security.
Find: "Allow active content to run in files on My Computer"
Place a check mark in the box for the above phrase by clicking it.

Then:

On the Security tab, click Custom Level.
To turn off the Information Bar for file downloads, in the Downloads section of the list, under Automatic prompting for file downloads, click Enable.
To turn off the Information Bar for ActiveX controls, in the ActiveX controls and plug-ins section of the list, under Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls, click Enable.
Click "OK" button to finish.

Considering trying your suggestion, but if my work app doesn't fuction properly after I reset, wondering how to go back to the settings I have now?  Does this only affect the settings in the Advanced tab, or does it reset all settings in all tabs in this Internet Options window?

That helped. Thanks.  One more question. Are the security issues I should be aware of?  I am thinking I should turn this off when done?
