Is there an OpenSource solution for logging Serial Data to MySQL?

Data is received on ttyS0 in fixed length from an Avaya Definity G3.

I found http://www.experts-exchange.com/OS/Linux/Q_11034782.html  - Answer is 10 years and 8 months old. Hoping for something new.

Also found http://www.tek-tips.com/faqs.cfm?fid=2462 regarding a pay windows program.

Currently it is being dumped from Hyper-terminal to file only.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Using DBI, DBD:Mysql or mysql module you can handle the incoming data and process it as needed.
