Act not open with PAD file or saved zip file
I experienced some kind of weird "stuff" on my pc today. I have rectified most of it. All that remains and this is HUGE is i can not get ACT to open up my PAD file. it is there ( i see it) but does not see it.
I have attached to error messages.
The first image is when i try to open the PAD file. It is the little error message.
The second very Long and convoluted message is what i get when i try to restore a saved ZIP file.
help on either or both will be appreciated. So the bottom line is right now i can not open my ACT database with any saved information.
Plus my PAD file is not remote on a network drive but sits on my C drive along with my ACT program.
I am using Visa Home Premium

no i can not
What happens when you try the demo?
Can you try: File | Open
Change File Type from PAD to ADF
Then open the database.

You STILL have weird "stuff" on your PC ... have you run a virus check recently?

i have one running all the time. the weird mini meltdown took place when i tried to and did unhook a bad raid drive. I really don't go anywhere with this pc other than amazon and i don't open attachments. But i can run a complete scan again.
I'd run a complete scan from a web-based scanning engine. Many viruses can make local virus scanners ignore them

thanks for your time and help
The second error seems to point to a system problem that SQL isn't started. Can you open the demo database?
