Konica Minolta Bizhub C253 setup with Rackspace SMTP

Does anyone have experience setting up a Konica Minolta Bizhub 253 with a Rackspace SMTP?  I keep getting login errors when doing scan-to-email.  Username/password for the Exchange server on Rackspace has been verified to work properly otherwise.

This is a workaround not a solution . . .

I've always had trouble with copiers sending over secure SMTP.  If the Exchange server was on-site, I'd recommend letting the copier send through the server without authentication.  But that isn't an option here.  This workaround MAY work for your situation:


I've used this method to use a Ricoh MFC device to send scans with a Google Apps mail server.  If you don't have any better solutions, you may want to give this a shot.

That's how the machine was set up before, as the Exchange was just migrated to the cloud just as I took over the job.  A few of the programs such as BackupExec and other monitoring software, along with the copier, now can't send out the simple-SMTP messages.  This may resolve all of them.

The workaround/solution worked perfectly.  The Konica does not authenticate well to Rackspace.  hMailServer is able to log into Rackspace as a go-between much easier and then use their SMTP to forward the messages to where they need to go.  Thanks fo the help.
