SSL/TSL Error with Avast

I have a client with a new computer. She asked to have Avast antivirus installed. When she opens her email she gets an error message from Avast telling her it has detected a connection that could not be checked for viruses and to disable the SSL/TLS in her mail client so that avasts mail scanner could scan the mail. I have never seen this error before. Her email client is Outlook Express and her ISP is Wild Blue. Any suggestions?
