Open directory integrated with Active Directory

I have an active directory domain, domain.local.
I bought a Mac Mini because I have 50% mac's.
I think I can use the mac mini for all mac authentication: file share, printing, etc.
I think I need to bind my mac mini to AD using the open dir utility.
I think I then need to install it as a OD master.

Two questions:
Should the mac mini point to itself for DNS or to domain.local domain controllers?
Should I have anything in the local DNS services forward/revers lookup zones?

I would register a and ptr records for your mac mini server in your ad integrated dns, then point the mini at your dcs for dns.

Nslookup the mini's name and IP to check forward and reverse lookup.

I did that and it works.
