I have windows 2003 R2. These articles mainly talks about windows 2008. If disk image backup are not supported, why is Acronis and paragon saying it should not be a problem. restoring an image of a DC server from one machine to another? This does not make senses to me.

The problem persists in 2003 also, USN rollback issues. &nbsp;I do wonder why they make those claims. &nbsp;

I have test server with windows 2003 and exchange 2003 on the same box with active directory. I use paragon to backup the hard drive. When I restore the image to different server hardware, the os boots up with following error:<br />
Security account manager failed because directory service can't start, error 0xc00002e1. Please reboot into Directory service restore mode&quot;<br />
I found this article kb258062, which is similar to my problem but not able to fix the problem. I thought third party software, paragon or acronis &nbsp;should address this problem.<br />

I found this article kb258062, which is similar to my problem but not able to fix the problem. I thought third party software, paragon or acronis  should address this problem.
