Fresh Vista install black screen

OK I have completed a fresh install after using "Dariks Boot and Nuke" on the computer.  However I cannot get actual video upon boot.  I only get a black screen.  I have tried to boot to safe mode, and I get video however since I have not completed the initial setup with normal boot i get a prompt that I need to complete the setup, and then I am forced to reboot the computer.  I think it is something to do with the video driver.  The system is an E-Machine T3604.  The OS in question is "Windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit".  Thanks.

Why not just use your standard Vista CD?  It will boot to VGA mode and allow you to install the driver.

Didn't think about that route.  Will try it.
