Sir, Thanks for the reply, Printer is not configured to the server instead it is configured to one desktop running windows xp professional ( printer configured locally to the windows xp professional system) this has been shared to the domain user of the laptop users running with windows 7 ultimate.

Also \\desktop\printersharename able to see the printer and when double click can see the printer, help and que but when the user from the windows 7 professional gives print , there is no error , it spools and shows printing also but print out is not comming , printer light does not blink.

Please help to fix this. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like it could be a driver issue. Did you download the driver from hp?

I would not change the system that is working, go to hp.com and download the drivers for the windows 7 box directly from them. plug the usb cable thats running into the xp box  into the windows 7 and use the drivers you downloaded. this will rule any driver issue out, then you can move onto using through the network.

1. Login on machine with local admin account and try to connect the printer
2. Check the sharing permission on the desktop where it is published

Sir, Thanks for the reply,
This printer is configured to the windows xp professional system and printer is working fine for the user who uses this desktop the problem is even though the printer is shared to other domain users and when they add this printer on to their desktop it gets added en give print it goes to queue but printer does not respond with blink lights and print does not comes.

This we tried from windows 7 ultimate domain user giving print to windows xp profesional printer system. In the same network we have network printer with ip assigned this is working fine for all th e desktops.

one more input the network is wireless, please suggest to fix this. Thanks in advance.
