I have a new sbs 2008 server that is currently not live & was thinking of upgarding sql express 2005 to 2008.

Is this possible on sbs server?

    Accepted Solution

The services built in to SBS that use SQL have been tuned for the version they were designed for, and SQL service packs and updates are tested against SBS. manually changing versions loses this testing and tuning. I strongly discourage attempting it.
