Problem with Zoom Tool in Outlook 2010..

Friend has a new laptop W7 HP x64 / Office 2010 Professional - when he is typing a new email from time to time the 'zoom' function kicks in and resizes his input to a much bigger size, how can he stop this happening?

One way that the zoom can be controlled is with ctrl+ the scroll wheel on the mouse.  As I'm sure you know, most laptops have the scroll wheel equivalent on the right side of the touchpad.  Is there any chance that your friend is holding down the ctrl key while using the touchpad?

What model laptop is this?  Some model specific software also has keyboard shortcuts for zooming that could be causing the issue.

Hope this helps.

It's an Acer Aspire 4820T

I agree with weinberk... in most cases, such behaviors can be triggered by an unintentional palm swipe to the touchpad when typing.

Could you try with an external keyboard and mouse (usb) just for testing to see if the problem continues?
