event id 1007 msexchange mailbox replication

I installed a new 2008 r2 server called ex08with exchange 2010 on it.  Before I moved the mailboxes from our exchange 2007 server I had to wipe out the server and do a reinstall.  I did not decomission the server just wiped it and did a reinstall with a new server name exserver and installed exchange 2010.  I now see the the old ex08 server in EMC and need to remove it.

How can I remove the old ex08 server from EMC.  I removed all traces from dns and active directory computers.

Thanks

Thanks for the article as it is very informative and gives me alot of info but the problem is that EMC sees a server that is no longer there (ex08) and tries to replicate to it.  I need to tell exchange that that server no longer exists.  Can I manually remove the ex08 server.

Thanks

You can remove the server from ADSIEDIT. but be carefull at will effect on your whole organization. You can follow below steps to remove from ADSI
Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative tools and open ADSI Edit.
Expand the following items:
Configuration Container
CN=Configuration, DC=Domain_Name,DC=com
CN=Services
CN=Microsoft Exchange
CN=Your_Organization_Name
CN=Administrative Groups
CN=Your_Administrative_Group_Name_Or_Exchange_Site_Name
CN=Servers

Here you can find the old server, from here you can eaisly remove this, but before doing this I'll personally recommend to take a backup of your AD.
