Joomla blog

Hi,

I have just imported a Word Press blog into Joomla and they are sitting in the article manager. They look fine when I preview them by the way, so the content is in place.

My question is, now, how do I set up a blog in Joomla and get these to populate that blog?

Many thanks

I would highly recommend you use K2,

http://demo.getk2.org/

We started using it on client sites, its free and the stuff you can do is out of this world : )

But seriously its very high end performance and features, makes WP look like notepad in comparison.

Its free, some addons require a small investment but only for gallery type stuff.

Your other choice is use the default Joomla menu system which will allow you to chose category layout and setup like a blog but this isnt as nice.

Hi Storm,

Thanks ... I am already using K2!!! I didnt mention that because when I imported the database form WordPress all of the blog content went in the article manager section, which is Joomla.

So ... how do you use K2 as a blog?
We use it with the modules that are available for category's like on the demo site.

It's a bit more user friendly than the standard date layout for blogs, users find the topics they want faster.

We're going to be testing out the multiple author system from the demo site as we have 3 specialists who discuss various topics, so teh simplest way is to use it with the K2 » Itemlist / Category option in the menu item then add the categorys you want to it.

YOU can then assign the K2 modules to only that link to give it the full blog feel as on the demo.

I appreciate your feedback, do you know of any tutorials on this topic.

I understand about the categories as I have been using K2 to build the rest of the site but I lost you when you said about assigning "K2 modules to only that link to give it the full blog feel "
