When receiving a PDF on our IPhone and then I forward that to another user, it doesn't forward the pdf, it forwards a .dat and .html file. Has anyone heard of this and is there a fix for it?

You could try transfering the PDF to iBooks and then emailing the  PDF from iBooks, I just tried this and it worked.

Also you could use an app called Airshaing to do this.

So are you confirming that this is a known problem, at least for you?  We have Verizon iPhone 4's. It seems they do it with some attachments, but not all.  It did it when sent through Exchange server as well as through a gmail account.  We are aware of the iBooks trick, that is not a bad workaround thanks, but we really need to be able to forward mail that has attachments.  It seems that we have to click a button to download the attachments before we forward them, and that seems to take time.

My guess would be that its to do with the email type which is why it works sometimes, I think HTML format email will be the problem but rich txt and plain txt will be ok.

So are you seeing it on other iPhone 4's?  I guess, I was worried that it could be a setting on our Exchange server (2003).  Is this a known issue in the iPhone community or are we unique as far as you know?

Yes I have had issue's with my iPhone 4 forwarding attachments, I have both a IMAP and Exchange account setup and it happens with both so its nothing to do with your exchange server.
