exchange 2010 unable to open other users folder
I have recently migrated from exchange 2003 to exchange 2010. In the past I was able to open a users inbox from my local outlook (outlook ver 03) but now when I attept this I get the message "cannot display the folder. The Inbox folder cannot be found". I am a member of the following Discovery Management, Organization Management, PF Management, Recipiant Management, Server Management.
I have also used ADSI edit to remove deny for send as and receive as.

You have to give yourself full permission for the mailbox in the Exchange Management Console.

In EMC/recipiant configuration/mailbox I have attempted to make the change. I see my account listed when I click "manage Full Access Permission...." but when I click the "manage" button I get the error "Some controls are not valid - changes in the user/group list are required to grant access or remove permissions"

I found this CmdLet script: Get-MailboxDatabase -identity “[mailbox database name]” | Add-ADPermission -user [username] -AccessRights GenericAll
I will try it and post update.

yeah that didn't work..
Have you tried this:
"How are you trying to enable Full Access? By right-clicking on the recipient in the 2010 EMC and selecting the give Full Access option? Also check to make sure the inheritance for the user object is set correctly. You want the inheritance box checked.
To check whether inheritance is enabled on the user:
Open Active Directory Users and Computers.
On the menu at the top of the console, click View > Advanced Features.
Locate and right-click the mailbox account in the console, and then click Properties.
Click the Security tab.
Click Advanced.
Make sure that the check box for "Include inheritable permissions from this object's parent" is selected.
Let AD replication take place, then try again."

Thanks for the reply. The inherit options are appropriately set as described already. My account has full perms according to what I see in effective permissions. the 2 problems I have found are these:
1. I cannot open another user's mailbox and view it from my local installed outlook 2010, I get the message "cannot display the folder. The Inbox folder cannot be found".
2. I cannot change permissions in the EMC as I get the error "Some controls are not valid - changes in the user/group list are required to grant access or remove permissions"
