How to combine two Outlook 2010 .pst files after computer crash

I have an Outlook 2010 (Windows 7) situation as follows:

User has Outlook 2010 setup with POP3 and using .pst file for email.  Their email account is setup to delete email off server after 10 days etc..  The computer was used for about 4 months and then the computer hard drive crashed and they put in a new hard drive about two weeks ago.  Outlook .pst file size is about 350 MB from old .pst file that has now been recovered to flash drive.

The Outlook 2010 was again setup about 3 weeks ago by someone to access email with new hard drive and ran for about 3 weeks.  The size of the .pst file is about 95 MB.   The current .pst file only contains what was on the server (POP3) and new email the last three weeks.

My question is:

What is the best way to get the user's Outlook email for this accont back to what it had before the crash and merge in only the new email over last three weeks?

I have the current .pst file (95 MB) and the old .pst file (350 MB).

Thanks

Setup outlook to see the newer pst file and then go to file->import and import the old pst file into the new personal folders.

ittogo:

By doing your procedure to 1) Have Outlook with newer PST file (on this now) and then do
file -> import and import old pst file into new personal folder:

1) There would be duplicate emails from old PST and new PST files.. Will Oulook take care of or create duplicates?

2) Will the user folders be all the same or would this method create two Personal folders?

3) Currently the .pst files have exact same name.  Does that matter in your process?

Thanks

I am currently trying to follow the procedure of importing a .pst file (size of about 350 MB) into current oulook with options:  Do not import duplicats, Import items into same folder.

The laptop is a new i3 with 4 GB of RAM plenty of free space on Hard drive etc.

As soon as I click "Finish" to do the import I get:

Microsoft Outlook is not responding window pop up.  And of course, you can not click anything in Outlook as it goes gray.  The rest of the programs continue to work fine.

The task manager shows OUTLOOK.EXE is using about 25% of cpu steady...

It has been 25 minutes with this same state...

is the import not working or is this an issue with Microsoft just taking a long time to import this email (350 MB .pst) and I need to wait it out for longer (hour? more).

Not sure if I should kill Outlook Program or just wait...

The import can take a while, but it usually shows a progress bar.
