Algebra

The answer is: -19.691. Where did I go wrong? Thanks.

3.21^2.33 + (5.77-3.11) / 8.32-2.64 * sq root 2.56
3.21^2.33 + (2.66) / 8.32-2.64 * sq root 2.56
15.14107552 + (2.66) / 8.32-2.64 * sq root 2.56
17.80107552 / 8.32-2.64 * sq root 2.56
17.80107552 / 8.32-2.64 * 1.6
17.80107552 / 8.32-4.224
17.80107552 / 4.096
=4.345965703

According to the bracketing the 2.66/8.32 should be done in step 3 instead of adding 15.14107552 to 2.66.
If the division sign in the middle means that it everything to the left is the numerator and everything to the right is the denominator, the brackets are not showing that.
Thanks,
Kelly W.

This is true. I should have put brackets to communicate this better. I remember that next time. Besides that, where did I go wrong? Thanks.

That looks fine to me, not sure how the answer is negative unless the grouping by brackets is dirreen.

The answer to the problem as shown in the graphic cannot possibly be negative.

5.77 - 3.11 is positive and 8.32 - 2.64*1.6 is also positive  hence the result MUST be positive.
