transport database in oracle

Could you please let me know how to transport database in oracle..

    Find the control files location .
    rename the control_files instance parameter..
    SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE the database
    Rename the physical file on the OS
    restart the database.

    Please explain what you mean by 'transport database'.

    Do you mean transportable tablespaces?  
    Moving the database to a different machine?  
    Creating a 'copy' of a database on a different machine?

    What database version? Techniques can change across versions.

    copy the database in differenct machine.

    @nobleit  can't you go with export and import , and also what slightwv: has suggested with RMAN will slove your problem.
