I have seen a few procedures on Google but does anyone have a tested procedure that works for you.

I believe the following process could work:
1. Upgrade VMM to R2 sp1
2. Upgrade individual Cluster Host Nodes.

Should be fine.

Hy AAron,

for upgrading SCVMM 2008 to R2 please follow only Microsoft instructions. That is your best bet that everything will workout fine :) Here are steb-by-step detailed instructions on how to do the upgrade. As you wrote, first you upgrade to R2 then you upgrade individual hosts.

Upgrading to VMM 2008 R2 from VMM 2008

And then as you said, you do upgrade of individual nodes :

If you have any further questions please dont hesitate to send me a masstage.

Igor

Found repored issues at - http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverClustering/thread/e67026af-7f9b-4698-9ca7-11853431ed86

This was reported in the last few days ... extracted comments:

"If your cluster is 3 nodes ot larger post pone your upgrade.  If your cluster is 2 nodes Continue.  This is what we have done interanally with great success.  We are waiting for the updated information to be release from the MS Teams"

Any confirmation? We do have 3 Nodes.
