user on xp machine had my documents redirected to his home drive on server (not made available offline) when he went to save a file it would default to his mapped drive... all good. he gets new windows 7 machine but cannot map as it is not indexed. I don't want the drive available offline I want it to work as before. is this possible if so how I want to avoid group policy if possible. thanks

windows explorer > libraries > documents > my documents

    right click on my documents

    select properties

    click on loaction tab

    Accepted Solution

yes but the location has to be indexed which means making available offline. I found a work around browse to c:\users\username\ then right click on my documents and redirect from here. This is not the same as right clicking on my documents in the start menu it should be noted
