How to automate the export process on ExMerge?

This is using MS Exchange 2003 server. There are 120 mailboxes, and part of the backup process, we want to backup all mailboxes to pst files using ExMerge. We can use the Exmerge to export out one or multiple or all mailboxes as pst files without problem, but, manually. BTw, is there a way to automate the process of exporting all mailboxes into pst files? and how?

you cannot automate that with exmerge, you will need to use a 3rd party to do that

The mailbox store databases are not stable, as it contains some corrupted mails. While waiting to schedule for the hard repair, at the same time, I wish to do a routine backup of the mailboxes.

Visualize your virtual and backup environments

Create well-organized and polished visualizations of your virtual and backup environments when planning VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V or Veeam deployments. It helps you to gain better visibility and valuable business insights.

Do you know what caused the database to be unstable?  Just want to ensure you don't have a disk subsystem issue and if so that you get that corrected first.

Assuming your disk subsystem is not an issue, then I would suggest that you instead of doing the repair that you create a NEW database and start doing mailbox moves from the old into the new database.

BTW are you aware that there is a 2GB limit with ExMerge?  The reason is because ExMerge only supports the ANSI PST Format which has a 2GB limit

* ExMerge will not warn you if a PST goes over 2GB, it will just corrupt the PST and you won’t know it until you try to open it

** ANSI PST's actually start to degrade at about 1.8GB so I would not go over that limit in order to ensure the data is recoverable

That said here is an article on how to script exports and to also script the creation of overflow PST's if you reach the 2GB limit with ExMerge http://theessentialexchange.com/blogs/michael/archive/2009/10/16/exporting-mailboxes-larger-than-2-gb-on-an-exchange-server.aspx
