Auto reply to Distribution group. Exchange 2007 & Outlook 2010

Hi all,

We're currently attempting to setup an automatic response to a few of our distribution groups.

At the moment we have created a new user with a mailbox and have added this to the required groups.

We have also allowed automatic replies within the hub transport.

We then created a rule within Outlook for the server to reply with a message when a new mail is received.

The auto reply is working when emailing the new mailbox directly but when emailing a distribution group it is a member of it is not.

Any help is appreciated.

Why not create an out of office response from the new user?

Because the out of office response will only go once to each sender.

Found it, tick box on the advanced tab of the distribution group within Exchange Management Console for "send out of office replies to originator".
