IE6 menu display incorrect

hello

i am using css menu and it looks fine in ff and ie7/8 but in ie6 the menu is not positioning correctly. it is supposed to sit to the right but for some reason it is moving to the left. I have tried display:inline and also have valid doctype in my document.  i have included screenshots and my css for the menu and would be grateful if someone could tell me where the error is? many thanks

The menu has 6 LI (width 76px) plus 1 px margin:

6*77 = 462px

Therefore change the following width of both these to 462:

#menu {width:525px;
and
#menu ul {width:525px;

still leaves a gap to the right. it has closed it slightly. thanks for reply.

This may be a moot point, but you may want to consider including something like this for your IE6 users.

Try using Firefox/firebug, you can hover over each element and see the sizes compared to each other.

I can see staight away that the DIV called menu, is not wide enough for the UL that is within it.
