iTunes Genius - Wont Recieve Results form Apple.

I try to turn on genius and it gathers my library data and sends to apple but I get an error saying that there was s error trying to recieve genius results from apple.

i'm pretty sure this has to do with bad characters in titles/artist/etc - so I need a way to scan the library and then delete those songs with bad characters. Library is too big otherwise I would go through each file in my music folder.

this is on a windows 7 machine

It will only do 50 songs according to the website
ok
But you need use with caution
try this
Choose File > Display Duplicates to show duplicate items (matches are based on the song name and artist).
If you have multiple versions of the same song (for example, live and studio versions, or versions from different albums) you can hold the Alt or Option key (for Mac OS X) or the Shift key (for Windows) and choose File > Display Exact Duplicates.
This will show only duplicate songs having the same name, artist, and album.
