I have a web app that runs on my IIS server. In development mode, when I execute it, I get these 3 icons that appear in the Systray. See Screenshot image. What causes them and how can I prevent them?

    Accepted Solution

These are virtual web servers that are created by Visual Studio to host the web applications you are developing. One will get created per web application that you have in your solution. You can ignore them, right-click and stop them or close Visual Studio and they will go away. Visual Studio keeps them alive to avoid having to start them up each time you run your app.

You have other options like using IIS Express or the full fledged IIS web server to develop and debug web applications but these little web servers are quite useful.
