Dear all,

Ok, I have exchange 2007 and am using outlook 2007 clients. Well, i think I have this resource scheduling thing almost nailed down except for one issue. It seems that lets say i schedule my boardroom for a 1pm-3pm meeting with you and send it? it works.. it accepts and schedules like its suppose too... but if I scedule a second meetin for the same room and time it still accepts it?? Why is that?? Now if I schedule a third meeting for that room witht he same time it will decline.. why is it allowing me to scheudle two meetings for the same room at the same time but will deny the third?? I just want it to accept one and deny all others for that room at that time.

How did you setup the resources?
Are they setup as actual "rooms" in exchange or just general users converted to resources?

If general users you need to log on as the user account in Outlook and open more commands, then calendar and setup resource scheduling.

If you upgraded from 2003 Exchange this is known to cause issues with resource scheduling and I would try creating a new resource and see if it happens to that.

If it fixes the problem you can log on with your old resource account backup the calendar then log on with the new account and restore the calendar.

The resource is setup as an actual room in exchange 2007.

What are the commands that need to be setup?

For Rooms everything is supposed to be done by Exchange, no logon on the local accounts necessary.

Are you booking as resource or required Or do you select the calendar spot, select invite attendees then click the room button and select the rooms?

I found this
get-mailboxcalendarsettings -identity XXXXX | fl

Confirm that AllowConflicts is set to false.

You run it in the Exchange Shell
Change XXXXX to the name of your room, you can use the alias name also

Found this too

1. Log onto OWA as yourself or another Exchange account.
2. Once logged on, select the arrow next to your name on the top right toolbar.
3. It will open a "Open another mailbox" option.
4. Type the alias of the resource and click OK.
5. It will open an OWA session to the resource.
6. Then you can click Options in top right and you'll have access to the resource options on the right menu.

Did you notice if you open a room in exchange and go to properties then Resource General there is a checkbox to enable resource booking attendant, is that checked?

Same way you open a user mailbox, just open Exchange Management Console then go to Recipient Configuration then Mailbox, then find the mailbox, right click and select properties

modus in rebus,

The solution that was awarded the points provided me with the answer I was looking for. I was using an account that was not an exchange admin which is why it was not alllowing me to see the resource accounts in OWA.

Please reward the points and close the question.

Thank you
