DFS share permissions stange behavior?

I've created a DFS root share with replication, I can write to it if I go to the server names ie. \\server1\dfs or \\server2\dfs but not to the domain version domain\dfs,

the share permissions seems correct, but nobody can write to the DFS share?

Frustrating!!!
